Board of Education Endorsements
On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, the Representative Council of the WTEA voted endorsements of the following candidates for election to seats on the Woodbridge Township Board of Education:
- Frank Della Pietro III
- Marie Anderson
- Nazam Mohammed
A committee of WTEA leaders invited all five of the prospective Board of Education candidates to interviews on September 7, 2023, at the WTEA Office. Of the five prospective candidates, two candidates declined our invitation.
The three candidates attending the screening, Frank Della Pietro III, Marie Anderson, and Nazam Mohammed, demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of our school district’s issues and articulated a clear understanding of how to improve our schools going forward.
Frank Della Pietro III & Marie Anderson are incumbents who have previously received our endorsement. We have worked closely with them in the past and have come to respect their judgment on school board issues. During Covid, they both were highly accessible and worked diligently to develop and maintain a positive relationship with WTEA leaders to benefit our school community.
We understand why Mr. Della Pietro and Mrs. Anderson have selected Mr. Mohammed as a running mate in this election. Mr. Mohammed shows intelligence, judgment, commitment, and understanding of our school district’s needs and deserves our support.
WTEA offers our unconditional endorsement of Frank Della Pietro III, Marie Anderson, and Nazam Mohammed for election to the Woodbridge Township Board of Education.
In the 19th Legislative District, incumbent candidates for election to the New Jersey Senate & Assembly, Senator Joe Vitale, Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, and Assemblywoman Yvonne Lopez, have all earned strong endorsements from NJEA for re-election.
